By default, owners and admins can suspend, drop or reactivate an enrollment.
Don’t see this page or button? Your role doesn’t include it. Ask your center’s owner or an admin to give you the role you need.

Before you start

Suspend an enrollment

Use this to pause a student’s place without giving up their seat — for example, while they’re away for a few weeks.
1

Open the student's row

In the sidebar, select Groups, select the group, then on the Students tab, select the ⋯ button next to the student.
2

Suspend

Select Suspend. Confirm or change the Date suspended — it can be backdated to any day on or after the student’s start date, but never into the future.
3

Confirm

Select Suspend.
A suspended student keeps their seat — it still counts against the group’s Capacity and blocks enrolling someone else in their place. From the date you set, they drop off the class schedule and attendance.

Drop a student

Use this when a student is leaving the group for good.
1

Open the student's row

On the group’s Students tab, select the ⋯ button next to the student.
2

Drop

Select Drop. In the Drop student dialog, enter a Reason — it’s required — and confirm or change the Date left, bounded the same way as suspending.
3

Confirm

Select Drop student.
Dropping a student frees their seat, but Cohort has no undo for it. To bring them back later, enroll them again.

Reactivate an enrollment

Only a suspended enrollment can be reactivated — a dropped one can’t, since dropping is final.
1

Open the student's row

On the group’s Students tab, select the ⋯ button next to the suspended student.
2

Reactivate

Select Reactivate, then confirm by selecting Reactivate again. No reason or date is needed — their seat was never released.
