Cohort has a separate app for each kind of user. Your role decides which one you sign in to.
If you have more than one role (for example, an owner who also teaches), sign in to each app separately. Each app shows only what belongs to its role.

What each role can do

These are the default permissions.

Owner

Everything in the Staff console, including the actions only an owner can take:
  • marking payroll as paid
  • changing SMS settings
  • renewing the Cohort subscription

Admin

Everything an owner can do, except the owner-only actions above.

Manager

Front-desk work. By default, a manager can:
  • add students, staff and groups, and enroll students in groups
  • work with leads
  • create invoices, view payments and top up a student’s wallet
  • record expenses
  • view the dashboard, the schedule and attendance
A manager can’t edit students, staff or groups once they’ve been added. Courses, rooms, fee plans, discounts, notifications, payroll and recording payments are also not available to managers.

Teacher

Works in the Teacher console with their own groups: sees the schedule, takes attendance and gives marks for lessons.

Student

Uses the Student console to see their own schedule, attendance and marks, their invoices and payments, and messages from the center.
